The Jeep Grand Cherokee is totally redesigned for 2011. Based on a longer wheelbase, the new Grand Cherokee features a more aerodynamic shape, a larger interior, and a new 3.6L V6 engine. The only available V8 engine is a 5.7L Hemi. Also new is an optional air suspension offering variable ride height.

For 2009, the Jeep Grand Cherokee receives only minor changes.

The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 gets an increase in power from 330 to 357 hp. Also new is tire-pressure monitoring and fuel saver notification displays in the instrument panel, an available 9-inch rear DVD entertainment screen in place of an 8-inch screen, and an available iPod interface.

For 2008, the Jeep Grand Cherokee benefits from minor interior and exterior design changes, as well as new entertainment and off-road and safety features. In addition to a revised front fascia, grille, and headlight design, the Grand Cherokee receives a revised instrument panel, steering-wheel, center console, and armrests. The new entertainment options consist of SIRIUS Backseat TV with three child-oriented channels and Jeep's MyGig, a 20-gigabyte hard drive that holds songs, pictures, and the navigation map.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is completely redesigned for 2005. With more steel and less glass, a laid-back windshield, the trademark giant wheel well flares, and a slickly angular body without cladding, the new Grand Cherokee looks more muscular than its predecessor. The interior's build quality is dramatically improved, although the Grand Cherokee remains short on leg room. A Hemi V8 is available for the first time.
