The Honda Civic receives an exterior and interior makeover for 2009. Engines and trims generally carry over from 2008, except for the Mugen Si sedan.
A new DX-VP trim on sedan models includes air conditioning and an audio system, while a new LX-S trim upgrades LX sedans with alloy wheels, exclusive black seat-upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering-wheel, a rear spoiler, and a chrome exhaust finisher.

For 2008, the Honda Civic adds an EX-L luxury trim that includes heated leather seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel and armrest, and heated mirrors

Also new is a limited Mugen version of the Si sedan that features a sports suspension, forged aluminum 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels, a full aerodynamic body kit with an adjustable rear wing and diffuser, and a sport-tuned exhaust.

For 2007, the Honda Civic adds an Si sedan version that shares its 197-horsepower engine, six-speed manual transmission, and four-wheel disc brake setup with the Si coupe model. Honda's engineers tweaked its suspension to compensate for the sedan's longer wheelbase. Front-seat passengers get the Si coupe's sport seats. Both Si editions come standard with an electronic stability program for added control in emergency maneuvers.

After a slight work-over for the 2004 model year, there are only little changes for the 2005 Honda Civic.

A new Special Edition, optionally available on EX models, adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear-deck spoiler, unique alloy wheels, and special badges.

Honda's highly practical Civic rolls into 2004 with a subtly but significantly new look. Bumpers, hood, headlights, and grille are all new on the coupe and the sedan, emphasizing a baby-brother resemblance to the slick and smooth Accord.The sporty Si hatchback gets new headlamps and taillamps that update its sleek look. Engines and trim levels remain simliar to 2003.
