The Ford Model T was first produced in 1908, and thanks to Henry Ford's introduction of the assembly line to automotive manufacturing, is generally regarded as the first vehicle for the masses. Before it, cars were hand-crafted in a time-consuming and costly process. Between 1908 and 1927, about 15 million Model T's were built.
