That may soon change, as Land Rover is showing off its Evoque convertible concept at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. As Land Rover explains, the drop-top Evoque is meant to “explore the potential for the world’s first premium convertible SUV,” meaning that Land Rover will be extremely interested in hearing customer feedback on the concept. The company adopted a similar strategy with the DC100 concepts, which will likely serve as the basis of the next-generation Land Rover Defender. An Evoque convertible fits in with the brand’s strategy of of expanding the Evoque product line beyond the existing range.
So far, everything has been positively enigmatic, but now clean tech specialist Theo O’Neill has shed more light on what financial analysts from Barclays called the Model X’s “falcon doors.” O’Neill hasn’t seen the car in real life or ridden in it, but after seeing photographs, he’s pretty excited about how the doors operate.
But there are other ways to make vehicles greener, including the use of renewable materials to replace petroleum-derived synthetic components.
The new crossover, which is due in showrooms this fall following a debut at April’s 2012 New York Auto Show, picks up a dramatic new look shared by the Veloster and recently facelifted Genesis Coupe.
That’s about to change, as Ford continues to launch vehicles that can be sold globally, rather than developing individual cars for specific countries. Today, Ford unveiled its EcoSport subcompact crossover at the Delhi Auto Expo–and we have all the photos for you.
According to the automaker, some of the bolts that connect the engine oil cooler and the engine oil filter of the mentioned vehicles weren’t manufactured to the correct specification strength.

But hybrids are still more expensive than gasoline models by a few thousand dollars, and the majority of buyers prioritize price over those last few miles per gallon. So the new 2013 Mazda CX-5 promises to raise the bar for gas mileage in the compact crossover segment.
