First unveiled last September in concept form, the special FX50 has been confirmed for production by Infiniti at this week’s 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
If you’re looking for a topless crossover, your current options are limited to just one vehicle: the Nissan Murano Cross-Cabriolet. We suppose you could include the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in the mix, but it’s on-road ride quality isn’t something we’d want to endure on a daily basis.
That may soon change, as Land Rover is showing off its Evoque convertible concept at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. As Land Rover explains, the drop-top Evoque is meant to “explore the potential for the world’s first premium convertible SUV,” meaning that Land Rover will be extremely interested in hearing customer feedback on the concept.
The company adopted a similar strategy with the DC100 concepts, which will likely serve as the basis of the next-generation Land Rover Defender. An Evoque convertible fits in with the brand’s strategy of of expanding the Evoque product line beyond the existing range.
Over the past few months, we’ve started to hear more and more about Tesla’s 2014 Model X — the all-electric crossover SUV that will follow the 2012 Model S into production in year’s time.
So far, everything has been positively enigmatic, but now clean tech specialist Theo O’Neill has shed more light on what financial analysts from Barclays called the Model X’s “falcon doors.”
O’Neill hasn’t seen the car in real life or ridden in it, but after seeing photographs, he’s pretty excited about how the doors operate.
Ask about green cars and most buyers think only of gas mileage.
But there are other ways to make vehicles greener, including the use of renewable materials to replace petroleum-derived synthetic components.
We’ve been seeing the spy shots for more than a year now but these are the first images of Hyundai’s all-new 2013 Santa Fe crossover (ix45 for European readers) that show the vehicle without any covering.
In the U.S. market, the vast majority of crossovers and sport-utility vehicles are compact or mid-size vehicles.
That’s about to change, as Ford continues to launch vehicles that can be sold globally, rather than developing individual cars for specific countries.
Today, Ford unveiled its EcoSport subcompact crossover at the Delhi Auto Expo–and we have all the photos for you.
Infiniti has issued a recall on certain versions of its 2011 FX crossover and 2012 M sedan due to a potential oil leak caused by a faulty oil filter component.
According to the automaker, some of the bolts that connect the engine oil cooler and the engine oil filter of the mentioned vehicles weren’t manufactured to the correct specification strength.
If you’re planning to buy a new Toyota or Lexus in the near future, pay attention. The automaker just announced pricing on a range of vehicles, and several popular models — including the 2012 Toyota Corolla, Highlander, and Tundra — are due for a price increase. Others, like the 2012 Matrix, will drop. And the 2012 Venza is a little bit of both. Here’s a breakdown:
Let’s face it: If you want the best gas mileage in a compact or mid-size all-wheel drive crossover, you have to go hybrid.
But hybrids are still more expensive than gasoline models by a few thousand dollars, and the majority of buyers prioritize price over those last few miles per gallon.
So the new 2013 Mazda CX-5 promises to raise the bar for gas mileage in the compact crossover segment.
