Driver Injury Measures:
Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Driver Head Protection:
Even though the side curtain and side thorax airbags deployed, they missed contacting and protecting the dummy's head. Instead, the head was hit by the intruding window sill. According to Volkswagen/Audi, this surface satisfies the federal standard to provide some protection for occupants' heads.
Passenger Injury Measures:
Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Passenger Head Protection:
The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
